• Family tree details you enter: names, relationships, dates, places, and notes about family members.
• Technical details: basic server logs such as IP address, browser type, and visit times, used for security.

Sharing and activity records: if you share a tree with another registered user, we store who has access and a simple log of changes made to that tree.

2. Why we collect it

• To create and manage your account.
• To store and show your family trees.
• To keep the site secure and fix problems.

3. Who can see your information

• Only you can see your trees, unless you choose to share a tree with another registered user.
• We do not sell your data.
• We do not share your data with advertisers.
• We may disclose data if required by law.

4. Personal use only, and consent of people added

This website is made for personal family use only. It is meant to help individuals record their own family members and relationships.

• You may add a family member only if that person has agreed, or if you have their permission to add their details.
• Please do not add people who have not agreed to be included, and do not add anyone without their knowledge.
• This site is not for public use, business use, marketing, or collecting data about strangers.
• If any person added to a tree does not want to be included, they (or the account holder) can ask us to remove their information, and we will do so after verifying the request.

5. How long we keep data

When you delete your account, your data is removed from our live system immediately. Copies may remain in our hosting provider's backups for a limited period, after which they are overwritten. We do not restore deleted accounts.

6. Your rights

• Ask what data we hold about you.
• Correct wrong data.
• Delete your account and data.
• Download your family tree data.

7. Security

We use HTTPS, encrypted passwords, and limited access to the database. No system is 100% secure, so please use a strong, unique password.

8. Cookies

We use session cookies only to keep you logged in. We do not use advertising cookies.

We may update this policy. The "Last updated" date will change when we do.
